OIC calls emergency meeting to discuss desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called an emergency meeting of its executive committee to discuss the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden. The OIC is outraged by this provocative offense that was deliberately intended to outrage the feelings of Muslims. The meeting is being held at the invitation of Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Muslims in several countries have protested against Sweden’s decision.

The OIC has condemned this act as a vile one and has called for an emergency session to discuss the issue. The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has also proposed convening an emergency meeting of the OIC to gather foreign ministers of member states to discuss the recent burning of the Muslim holy book Quran in Sweden. The Iraqi Foreign Minister has also submitted a request to the OIC to hold an emergency and extraordinary session to discuss the issue of insult and abuse directed against the Holy Quran in front of the Stockholm Mosque in Sweden.
