Putin: Accepting Russia's conditions, a ceasefire in Ukraine is possible

He stressed that the agreement must lead to a lasting peace and address the "root causes of the conflict."
In a joint press conference with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Putin reiterated that Russia will not give up the areas it controls in Ukraine and wants guarantees, such as Ukraine not joining NATO.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that the Kremlin will accept Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, a proposal that Ukraine has also supported.
Putin has welcomed Trump's efforts to end the war and has raised the possibility of talking to him about it.
Also, Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, traveled to Moscow for talks, and Russian officials confirmed that Mike Waltz, the US national security adviser, had presented details of a ceasefire plan. Russia has said it is ready to consider the proposal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he is ready to agree to a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine if Moscow accepts his conditions.
