Two Afghan Citizens Executed in Iran

The human rights organization said in a report on Friday that the prisoners were executed by prison officials on Wednesday morning at Qazel Hesar prison.

According to the report, the two Afghan citizens were previously sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic's judiciary on charges of murder.

Human rights group Hangao said one of the Afghan citizens was Amanullah Tajik; But he did not disclose the identity of the other Afghan citizen.

Iran has executed dozens of Afghan migrant citizens on various charges without informing the Afghan government over the past several years.

The Iranian Human Rights Organization has earlier warned of the intensification of the death penalty in Iranian prisons and called for special attention from the international community to the issue of executions in Iran.

Five people, including two Afghan citizens, have been executed in Iran's Qazel Hesar prison in Karaj, the human rights organization Hangao said.
