Shehbaz Sharif: alignment of some officials with Afghan Taliban cause security challenges in Pak

He made these remarks three days after the hostage-taking incident on the Jafar Express train, in a meeting with Pakistani officials in Balochistan.

In this meeting, Mr. Sharif criticized those who seek to establish relations with the Taliban, saying that their actions have led to the current security crises.

He also noted that some individuals have released thousands of militants from prisons and warned of the infiltration of "enemies disguised as friends" who are working against Pakistan's interests.

The Pakistani prime minister also accused the "eastern enemy" of launching negative propaganda against his country, although he did not name India.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a harsh statement, attributed his country's current security challenges to the support of some Pakistani officials for the Afghan Taliban.
