ACBC: The achievements of the Afghan cricket team are due to the support of the Taliban leadership

He emphasized that the national team players took photos with Taliban officials, including Sirajuddin Haqqani, with full consent and without coercion.

The publication of images of members of the Afghan national cricket team alongside Taliban officials has drawn many negative reactions.

Critics consider this action a form of whitewashing by the Taliban and believe that it is a condoning of human rights violations by the Taliban.

Some opponents have even launched a campaign to boycott the cricket team and called on other countries to accept these sanctions.

In response to these criticisms, Naseeb Khan said that without Taliban support, the Cricket Board could not have achieved independence and implemented the needed reforms.

He also added that the Afghan cricket team has made significant progress in international competitions and their recent successes are part of the Taliban's special attention to this area.

He concluded by pointing out that taking photos with rulers is a common practice, and such actions have been taken before at different times, which may have pleased some people and displeased others.

Naseeb Khan, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, defended the meeting and photo-taking of members of the national cricket team with Taliban officials, stating that these successes were the result of the support and "compassion" of the Taliban leadership.
