Taliban leader meets East Turkistan Islamic Party leader in Faryab

According to sources, the meeting took place (Saturday, September 10) in the city of Maimana, the capital of Faryab province.


The news comes as the UN Security Council and Foreign Policy have issued separate reports on the presence of numerous terrorist groups in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.


The Islamic Party of East Turkestan is a terrorist organization allied with the Taliban that has been active in Pakistan and Afghanistan for two decades.


The Islamic Party of East Turkestan is a group of Uighur militants fighting for the liberation of China's Xinjiang province and aims to establish a jihadi emirate in China's Xinjiang.


According to reports, after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, 21 terrorist groups, including Tajik Ansarullah, Chinese Uighurs, Jundallah, and Lashkar-e-Taiba, are active in northern Afghanistan.


The Taliban have not commented on the matter.

Reliable sources tell Exile that Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban, has met with Abdul Haq Turkestan, the leader of the East Turkestan party, which is made up of Chinese Uighurs and Juma Ake of Uzbekistan.
