Save the Children Fund: More than 38,000 people have been displaced in Afg in the past six months

The number of displaced people in Afghanistan in the first six months of this year is higher than last year, the UN said in a report on Tuesday.

According to the UN, half of the displaced people this year are children, with Afghanistan having the highest number of child displacements in the world last year.

The report said these people were forced to leave their homes due to drought, extreme temperatures, landslides, avalanches and storms in Afghanistan.

By 2022, one in seven children in Afghanistan will be long-term displaced, according to Save the Children.

The figure is the highest in South Asia and Afghanistan is the second highest in the world, the organization said.

The Children's Fund has called for more international assistance to address existing needs and long-term planning for the climate change crisis.

Save the Children says Afghanistan is one of the countries that is unable to adapt to climate crises and is the sixth most vulnerable country in the world to climate change.

At least 38,488 people were displaced by natural disasters across Afghanistan in the first six months of this year, Save the Children said in its latest report.
