U.S. Department of State: Taliban is a 'terrorist' organisation

"I am relatively confident that the Taliban are a designated terrorist organization," Patel told a news conference on Monday night.


Although the United States has so far recognized the Taliban; But US officials have always insisted on engaging with the Taliban.


Some criticize the US policies towards the Taliban, saying that the country supports the group by sending weekly financial aid; But US officials say the aid is not reaching the Taliban.


However, the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction said in a report that there is a possibility that terrorist groups in Afghanistan under Taliban rule have access to US aid.

US State Department Deputy Spokesman Dante Patel said the Taliban were a "terrorist" organization.
