Interior Minister of Islamic Republic of Iran: We can no longer accept Afghan refugees

Mr. Momeni emphasized the importance of closing the borders to prevent the entry of illegal immigrants.
Iran's interior minister said: "We are not anti-immigrant; But international aid in this field is close to zero and we cannot accept immigrants."
On the other hand, Hojjat Sediqi, General and Revolution Prosecutor of Taibad, has announced that more than 23 thousand 156 Afghan immigrants have been deported to Afghanistan through Dogharon crossing since the beginning of this year.
This is despite the fact that with the return of the Taliban to power, several million citizens of the country, especially former soldiers, have sought refuge in the countries of Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey for various reasons, including lack of life security, poverty, and unemployment; But for some time now, these countries have accelerated the process of arresting and deporting Afghan immigrants.
Iskander Momeni, the Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic, says that this country is no longer able to accept immigrants; Because the international aid in the field of immigrants has been greatly reduced.
