Julia Parsi: I lost my sense of hearing after being tortured in Taliban Prison

Ms. Parsi posted a picture of herself on Friday (January 11) and wrote that "the torture of prison has turned into incurable pain."

The women's rights activist posted a picture of herself in the hospital, saying she had undergone surgery for a deep wound in her right ear.

Ms. Parsi said that her ears were deeply scarred from the Taliban's slaps in prison; she added that currently, "I am doing well, but in four months I will have to have surgery on my other ear."

Julia Parsi says that the pain left behind by the Taliban's torture in prison has made her more mature and strengthened her will to continue the path of struggle.

She has emphasized that we must believe in the ability of women, because they are very strong. Julia Parsi, a female protester, was arrested by the Taliban from her home on October 25 last year, but was released on December 17, three months after being severely tortured by the Taliban.

It is worth noting that in the past three years, the Taliban have arrested, tortured, and in some cases disappeared dozens of female protesters.
