HALO TRUST: Afghanistan is one of the four countries with severe landmine contamination in the world
In a report, the World Organization for Mine Action said that the total land contaminated by mines in Afghanistan in 2022 was about 53 square kilometers; But now it has increased by 7.8%.
According to this report, currently 65 square kilometers of Afghanistan's land in 26 provinces of Afghanistan have been identified as contaminated with mines.
This organization added that currently, there are at least 60 countries and regions contaminated with landmines in the world.
Meanwhile, unexploded landmines left over from wars kill dozens of citizens every year.
The world demining organization HALO TRUST announced that around 65 km of Afghanistan's soil is contaminated with mines.
