Human Rights Activists Call on Donald Trump to Immediately Cancel Doha Agreement

They signed the letter on Saturday, saying the Doha agreement between the Taliban and the United States has strengthened global terrorism, exacerbated instability in the region, threatened mass migration, created a dangerous model of government and increased organized crime.
Human rights activists and protest movements say the Doha peace deal has had dire consequences for the Afghan people.
"The Taliban's suppression of women and girls, as well as religious minorities, targeted assassinations, escalating asylum crisis and forced migration, weakening of media and journalists, intensification, production and trafficking of drugs are important internal consequences of this agreement," the letter said.
"Your decision to support the people of Afghanistan, especially women and girls who have been oppressed by the Taliban, can change the fate of this country," human rights activists and protest movements said in a letter to Trump. We ask you to use your influence and power to bring justice, freedom and peace to Afghanistan.
” The women also called for the trial of Taliban leaders, efforts to form an elected government in Afghanistan, strengthening civil society organizations, the media and increasing diplomatic pressure on the Taliban.
In an open letter, a number of Afghan human rights activists and women's protest movements have called on US President-elect Donald Trump to immediately cancel the Doha agreement between the US and the Taliban.
