Afghanistan’s food insecurity crisis: Over 15 million citizens affected







More than 15 million Afghan citizens are facing severe food insecurity, according to a report from the World Food Program.
The report states that from May to October 2023, 15.3 million people in Afghanistan will face the most severe level of food insecurity.
The report also states that 2.8 million Afghan citizens are at the emergency level of food insecurity.
Earlier reports indicated that hundreds of thousands of Afghan children were malnourished.
After the Taliban group regained control, unemployment, poverty and destitution have increased in an unprecedented way.
