Trump nominates another veteran as his administration's defense secretary

Pete Hegseth served in the US Army in Iraq, Guantanamo Bay and Afghanistan.

Based on published information, between 2011 and 2012, Hegseth was deployed to Afghanistan with the US Army National Guard and spent 10 months at Camp Jolin in Kabul.

Meanwhile, Trump has announced that he has chosen American billionaire Elon Musk and former Republican presidential candidate Yuk Ramaswamy to head the US Government Productivity Office.

On the other hand, John Ratcliffe, the former director of national intelligence during the first term of Trump's presidency, has been appointed as the new head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Donald Trump, the newly elected president of the United States, has chosen Pete Hegseth, the host of Fox News and an army veteran, as the secretary of defense of his administration.
