UNAMA calls for investigation into attack on Sufis in Baghlan

UNAMA said in a message on Saturday that the Taliban should work to protect communities and ensure that they are not at risk.

Unidentified gunmen attacked a Sufi shrine in Baghlan province on Thursday night, shooting at least 10 people who were engaged in praying.

Meanwhile, UN Special Rapporteur for Afghanistan Richard Bennett also condemned the attack on Sufi worshipers in Baghlan, which killed at least 10 people, adding that Afghanistan's religious minorities remain at serious risk.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNHCR) has condemned the attack on a Sufi shrine in Baghlan and called on the Taliban to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the attack and prevent such attacks from happening again.
