Turkish police detain dozens of Afghan refugees

According to this report, five individuals have also been arrested on charges of human trafficking and referred to judicial authorities.

Based on reports from Turkish media, this truck was stopped while moving towards the western cities of the country in the industrial area of Van, and the arrested individuals were transferred to special migrant detention centers.

Turkey has intensified operations to identify and arrest undocumented migrants in recent weeks. Just one week ago, another 75 asylum seekers were also arrested in the cities of Erzincan and Sivas.

Turkish media have reported that the country's security forces have identified and arrested at least 69 Afghan asylum seekers who were hiding without residence documents in a cargo truck in the city of Van.
