Tensions Escalate Between Hamas and Israel; Hamas Targets Southern Israeli Cities

According to the Israeli army, about 10 rockets were launched, most of which were intercepted by air defense systems, but some of them hit urban areas.

Hebrew-language news outlets reported a direct attack on the city of Ashkelon, injuring several people.

Images showed damage such as broken glass and debris strewn across the streets. Meanwhile, medical sources in Gaza said that recent Israeli attacks have killed at least 39 people in the Gaza Strip.

At the same time, the Israeli army has asked residents of several areas in the city of Deir al-Balah to evacuate, warning that another attack is coming. While the first phase of the ceasefire was in place since January this year, a new round of fighting has begun since late March, and efforts to reach a new ceasefire have failed.

Palestinian sources say that more than 50,000 people have lost their lives in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.

The Hamas movement announced on Sunday that it had fired several rockets into southern Israel in response to recent Israeli army attacks in the Gaza Strip.
