Vice President Trump: Afghan citizens cannot enter the United States without due diligence

In an interview with CBS on Sunday (February 27), Mr. Vance firmly defended the decision to suspend flights for Afghan citizens awaiting transfer and resettlement in the United States.

He said that some asylum seekers' cases were not properly screened for security reasons before entering the United States, causing concern.

JD Ones pointed to the case of Nasir Ahmad Tohidi, an Afghan immigrant living in Oklahoma who was accused of planning a terrorist attack on Election Day, saying that the case shows that the asylum process was flawed.

"Many of these refugee programs have problems in terms of the quality of screening. We certainly can't let thousands of people into our country without questioning," Vance added.

These statements were made as thousands of Afghan refugees await transfer and resettlement in the United States.

On his first day in office, US President Donald Trump issued an executive order suspending immigration into the country for 90 days.

JD Vance, vice president of the new US President Donald Trump, defends the suspension of flights for Afghan citizens, saying that Afghan refugees cannot come to the United States without the necessary checks.
