UNICEF: Afghan children suffer from anxiety and depression

This organization said in a report on Monday, 18 Cancer that Afghan children are facing mental illnesses 10 times more than the global average rate.

With the publication of a new report, the United Nations Children's Fund says that mental illnesses among Afghan children are the result of war, migration, displacement and economic poverty.

According to this institution, frequent natural disasters and explosive ammunition have led to an increase in psychological problems among Afghan children.

The report also states that the Taliban's restrictive measures against Afghan women have reduced their access to health services and mental health support.

The United Nations Children's Fund says that more than 24 percent of children between the ages of five and 17 in Afghanistan experience anxiety and 15 percent of other children suffer from depression.
