Cigarette: The Taliban have allocated foreign aid to the people of their choice

In some cases, the group has allocated aid to individuals it has designated, and in other cases, it has made it difficult for women to access humanitarian aid.
According to SIGAR, the Taliban have asked aid organizations to give aid to men dependent on women in need and to refrain from distributing aid directly to women.
The report also notes that the Taliban has asked aid agencies to cover the costs of monitoring their teams and provide financial assistance to resettle Afghan refugees in new areas.
While the United States has allocated more than $3 billion for aid projects in Afghanistan, critics worry that some of this aid could end up in the hands of the Taliban.
SIGAR emphasized that oversight and coordination problems between different institutions have made it unclear the exact extent of the misuse of these resources.
The US Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) announced in a new report that due to a lack of close oversight of the activities of aid agencies, Taliban officials have interfered in the process of distributing foreign aid.
