Ishaq Dar's hint to Faiz Hamid: A cup of tea spurred thousands of TTP fighters into Pakistan

Mr. Ishaqdar told the media on Thursday that the wound of terrorism has been renewed in Pakistan with the rise of the Afghan Taliban to power.

He referred to General Faiz Hameed's visit to Kabul and said that this visit and drinking a cup of tea opened the borders to terrorists and thousands of members of the Pakistani Taliban entered Pakistan.

General Hamid had a close relationship with former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Members of the ruling People's Party and the Muslim League blame Imran Khan for the increase in terrorism and the strengthening of the Pakistani Taliban for his tolerance of the Taliban.

"After the opening of the borders, between 30,000 and 40,000 members of the Pakistani Taliban returned to Pakistan from Afghanistan," the deputy prime minister and foreign minister said.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that drinking a cup of tea led to thousands of militants entering Pakistan.
