Rina Amiri: Taliban Face Mental Health Crisis With Their Extremist Policies

Ms. Amiri wrote on Friday (May 20) on the occasion of World Mental Health Day that everyone should be determined to support the restoration of the rights of Afghan citizens.


The US Special Representative added that all Afghan citizens, especially women and girls, are struggling with a severe mental health crisis.


Since returning to power, the Taliban have imposed widespread restrictions on Afghan citizens, especially women, making life difficult for them.


It is worth mentioning that in the past three years, the number of suicides has increased due to poverty, depression and lack of mental health among Afghan citizens, especially among youth and girls.

US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reina Amiri said on the occasion of World Mental Health Day that the Taliban have created a mental health crisis for Afghan women with extreme policies and widespread restrictions.
