Provincial Councils Association: Taliban kill at least five ex-servicemen every day

The association on Friday criticized the international community for not acting against targeted killings by the Taliban, calling the Taliban leader's amnesty decree baseless.
The Association of Provincial Councils said in a statement that it received daily reports that the Taliban were arresting former government officials and civil society activists and then handing over their bodies to their families.
The association criticized the international community, saying that although the international community is aware of the killings, they have not taken any action against the Taliban's crimes and have only issued empty statements.
The Afghan Provincial Councils Association has criticized the weekly US financial aid to the Taliban, calling the US stance on the Taliban unmanly and a violation of human rights.
The statement called on the United Nations and the United States to work towards the establishment of an inclusive government that the Afghan people want by reviewing the Doha agreement.
UNAMA said in its latest report that between April and June this year, it documented at least 60 cases of arbitrary detention, 10 cases of torture and ill-treatment and five cases of killings of former government officials and former members of the Afghan security forces.
The Afghan Provincial Councils Association said in a statement that despite the Taliban leadership's amnesty, at least five soldiers, former government officials, activists and journalists are arrested and mysteriously killed by the group's militants every day.
