Letter to Trump, a member of the US Representatives called for a halt to financial aid to Taliban

US Representative Tim Burchett wrote a letter to US President-elect Donald Trump urging him to stop funding the Taliban.

In this letter, Mr. Burchett (Monday, January 7) called on Trump to take steps to immediately halt the sending of US cash aid to the Taliban and support Congressional efforts to prioritize the interests of the American people.

He has emphasized that paying $40 million a week to our enemies (the Taliban) is an insult to those who have served in the military; he added that the United States should not be financing its enemies abroad.

This is despite the fact that in the past three years, the United States has sent more than two billion dollars to Afghanistan under Taliban rule.

Experts and critics say that this aid ends up in the hands of the Taliban, and the Taliban benefit from it.

A US congressman wrote a letter to Trump demanding that financial aid to the Taliban be stopped.
