US imposes new sanctions on Pakistan's missile programme

The US State Department said in a statement on Wednesday (December 19) that Washington will continue its actions against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems.

A statement from the US State Department said that four Pakistani entities involved in the proliferation or delivery of ballistic missiles have been targeted by new sanctions.

Meanwhile, in response to the new US sanctions, Pakistan has said that Pakistan's missile capability is for self-defense and stability in South Asia.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry has described these sanctions as biased.

The US State Department announced in a statement that it would impose additional sanctions against Pakistan's ballistic missile program.
