UNICEF: More than 17,000 children in Afghanistan will be reunited with their families in 2024

UNICEF posted a picture on Twitter on Tuesday (January 11), the moment a grandfather meets his grandson for the first time in years.

The organization wrote in a message that it carried out this action in cooperation with the European Union Office in Afghanistan.

The United Nations Children's Fund previously announced that it had established a recreation center for children returning from Pakistan at the Torkham crossing.

It is worth noting that UNICEF reunites children expelled from Pakistan and Iran with their families.

The United Nations Children's Fund announced that it had reunified 17,400 Afghan children with their families in 2024.
