Japan donates $7 million to support food programs in Afghanistan

According to the World Food Programme, this aid is part of a $58 million package intended to support 28 vulnerable countries in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The World Food Programme stated that this funding will be used in Afghanistan for providing food assistance and implementing emergency nutrition programs in schools.
In addition to Afghanistan, Palestine, Myanmar, Somalia, and Djibouti will also benefit from this aid. Yasuhiko Tsumura, the Director of the World Food Programme's Liaison Office in Japan, emphasized that this financial support helps meet food needs in crisis situations.
This comes at a time when international organizations have warned about the increase in poverty and food insecurity in Afghanistan, with estimates suggesting that nearly 23 million people in the country need humanitarian assistance.
The World Food Programme announced that Japan has allocated seven million dollars to help combat the food crisis in Afghanistan.
