Foreign Delegations Traveling to Kabul: Taliban Say We Are Widely Accepted

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Thursday that a recent visit by diplomats and foreign delegations to Kabul shows that the group is widely accepted and not isolated

"Similarly, the participation of the Afghan delegation under the chairmanship of Hamidullah Akhondzada, acting minister of transport at an important meeting in Termez city of Uzbekistan, shows that the Islamic Emirate (Taliban regime) has been widely accepted, relations with it are secured and there are movements," the Taliban spokesman added.

He said the Taliban's relations with foreign countries are growing day by day. Mujahid claimed that the group's meetings with foreign officials "have good economic outcomes for Afghanistan."

"The perception of some people that Afghanistan is isolated, and its economy is deteriorating and its relations with countries cannot be secured, all this has been proven wrong," a Taliban spokesman said.

He has claimed that Taliban-controlled Afghanistan is now taking ascending steps both politically and economically.

After nearly three years, no country has officially recognized the Taliban.

However, countries in the region and some of Afghanistan's neighbors have established close ties with the Taliban and have accepted the group's diplomats.

The presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and human rights abuses, including the rights of women and girls, have had a past impact on the Taliban's relations with foreign countries.

Although the Taliban claim to have improved economic conditions, the World Bank recently said in a report that the country's economic future is dark.

Meanwhile, the Taliban claim to have improved economic conditions as more than half of the country's population needs humanitarian assistance.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the recent visit by diplomats and foreign delegations to Kabul shows that the group is widely accepted and not isolated. Mujahideen said that Kabul has recently seen "a large number" of diplomatic representatives and foreign delegations travel, adding that among them, the meeting between the deputy head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and his accompanying delegation as well as diplomats from Russia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and the European Union with Taliban officials is significant.
