U.S. Secretary of State: Damascus rebels must learn from Taliban's global isolation

The US Secretary of State said on Wednesday (November 19) at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York that the Taliban presented a more moderate image when they took control of Afghanistan, but later revealed their true nature.

Mr. Blinken has emphasized that as a result of this approach, the Taliban continue to be severely isolated from the world.

However, he has called for the formation of an inclusive government in Syria and has called on Tahrir al-Sham to address security concerns, including the threat of ISIS and the elimination of Syria's remaining chemical weapons.

It is worth noting that following the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government, Syrian rebel groups led by Tahrir al-Sham came to rule Syria.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that the rebel groups in Syria that control Damascus should learn from the isolation of the Taliban and should fulfill their promises to form an inclusive government.
