The Taliban's Virtue Closes a Local Radio station in Khost

The radio station was sealed by Taliban accountants after lunch on Wednesday,
the center said in a statement on Wednesday. The Taliban's Amr-e-Maroof department warned the radio station last week that broadcasting music was a violation of media policy.
The Afghanistan Press Center says the Taliban have stopped broadcasting two local radio stations in Khost province in the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has called the Taliban's move to stop the activities of Radio Zaman in Khost province "another attack on freedom and media rights" and called for the "immediate reopening" of the radio station.
The organization called the closure of the media and the pressure on journalists and media workers "a flagrant violation of the principles of freedom of expression and human rights.
The Afghanistan Press Center said the Taliban had blocked the office of the local radio station Zaman for broadcasting music in the background of a program in Khost.
