Burchett had previously invited former deputy prime minister Amrullah Saleh to Washington for talks on Afghanistan.
Former Vice President Amrullah Saleh welcomed the invitation from US Congressman Tim Burchett, saying he would decide on a visit to Washington after consulting with political leaders.
US Congressman Tim Burchett told the media that he had also invited Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the Afghan National Resistance Front, to visit Washington to discuss the future of Afghanistan.
