Int Women's Day; UNAMA: Exclusion of women from society will lead Afg to isolation and crisis

Roza Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA, emphasized that these restrictions are not only a violation of human rights but also push the country toward poverty, isolation, and a deeper crisis.
UNAMA has warned that excluding women from social and economic spheres poses a major obstacle to Afghanistan’s progress.
This entity has requested UN member states to support an inclusive future for Afghanistan by backing women, investing in their capabilities, and strengthening their leadership.
Meanwhile, Alison Davidian, head of the UN Women’s section in Afghanistan, also stressed the importance of women’s presence, stating: “Life, progress, and stability in Afghanistan are not possible without women.”
The United Nations stresses that lifting these restrictions will benefit not only women but the entire Afghan society.
While the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Afghan women continue to face harsh conditions and widespread restrictions. From bans on education and work to severe limitations on social freedoms, the lives of millions of Afghan women and girls have undergone distressing changes over the past two years.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) office has once again, on the occasion of Women’s Day, called on the Taliban to lift the restrictions imposed on women and girls.
