United Nations: Rising temperatures in Afghanistan exacerbate water scarcity

This office published a statement on (Tuesday, 6 Sanblah) and said that the increase in air temperature in Afghanistan has aggravated the shortage of water.


This organization further wrote that rural families travel for 17 minutes on average to get water and families in cities pay twice as much as usual to get water.


Meanwhile, the European Union has expressed its concern for Afghanistan about the spread of the water crisis in this country, saying that drought, pollution and excessive use of water threaten people's water resources.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced in a statement that about 67 percent of families in Afghanistan are facing problems with access to water.
