Ali Ahmad Jalali: Taliban claims of retaliatory attacks against Pakistan is unrealistic

Mr. Jalali wrote in a note on X on Sunday that the claims seemed unlikely from a military point of view. He stressed that these actions were probably political attempts to maintain prestige.

The Taliban's defense ministry said on Saturday that it had attacked the hideouts of evil elements and their supporters who were being used to create insecurity in Afghanistan across the hypothetical Durand Line.

Meanwhile, Geo News reported that the Taliban had suffered casualties in fighting with Pakistani border guards and had abandoned six border posts.

The Pakistani media reported that between 20 and 25 Taliban members who were planning to attack Pakistani checkpoints were killed.

Former Afghan Interior Minister Ali Ahmad Jalali has dismissed the Taliban's claims of retaliatory attacks against Pakistan as computer games.
