Mohsin Naqvi: Pakistan is a wall between terrorism and the world

Naqvi also called on the United States to assist in the exchange of information and access to advanced technologies to combat terrorism.

During the meeting, which included members of the US House of Representatives including Jack Bergman, Tom Susie and Jonathan Jackson, officials from the two countries discussed bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, strengthening economic ties, security and trade.

The Pakistani interior ministry added that the talks emphasized the need for closer cooperation between Islamabad and Washington to counter terrorist threats. Pakistan's interior ministry also announced that special talks on counter-terrorism will be held soon in June.

Pakistan has long accused the Taliban of harboring militants against Pakistani forces, a charge the Taliban have consistently denied.

The Pakistani Interior Ministry reported that during a recent meeting with the American delegation in Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi described Pakistan as a "wall between terrorism and the world" and called for greater cooperation with the United States in combating terrorism.
