The 7th Central Asian Leaders' Consultative Meeting will be held in Tashkent

This meeting is expected to continue for two days and conclude tomorrow, Sunday (25th of Aqrab).

The presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are present at this gathering.

It is anticipated that the participants in the meeting will approve several multilateral cooperation documents.

The idea of establishing regular consultative meetings among the leaders of Central Asia was first proposed in 2017 AD by the leadership of Uzbekistan during the United Nations General Assembly, and since then, it has been consistently pursued.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, had emphasized before today's meeting that regional security is closely linked to the situation in Afghanistan. In a note, he wrote that creating lasting stability in Central Asia without addressing the existing challenges in Afghanistan is unimaginable.

The seventh round of consultative meetings of the leaders of Central Asian countries is being held today, Saturday, 24th of Aqrab, in Tashkent with the aim of strengthening regional cooperation, economic coordination, and reviewing joint projects among member states, and officials are scheduled to discuss global developments and regional challenges as well.
