Iranian official: We will not accept US demands even with the risk of war

Larijani, speaking on Monday (November 10), at a conference in Tehran, accused Western countries of seeking to "dominate Iran" and dismissed international concerns about Iran's nuclear and missile programs as mere "pretexts."

He stated: "The nuclear issue is merely a cover for the main goal of the United States and the West. The real objective is to limit the Iranian nation. Just as, following the recent war, they are proposing restrictions on our country's missile capabilities and regional role—matters that are none of their concern."

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council added: "Iran will not retreat from its path of independence and dignity, even in the face of all-out confrontation."

The conference, titled "Us and the West," was held to examine the approach of Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic, toward Western countries.

In recent days, speculation has grown about Iran's nuclear and missile programs and the potential for tensions with the West. The New York Times recently reported that, in the absence of negotiations and transparent oversight, concerns in the region have intensified over the possibility of another war between Iran and Israel.

Larijani also criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's slogan of "Peace through Strength," saying: "This mindset means replacing law with force; that is, countries must either submit or prepare for war, and the result is the spread of international instability."

Previously, Khamenei had also declared that the United States seeks Iran's "surrender" and would launch a direct attack if possible. During the 12-day war, Trump repeatedly demanded Iran's "unconditional surrender," and on November 1, he announced that the recent attacks on nuclear facilities and the killing of Qasem Soleimani had ensured that Iran is no longer the "dominant regional power."

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, announced that the Islamic Republic remains committed to its policies and will not accept the United States' demands, even at the cost of another military confrontation.
