UN: 99% of the world's population breathes polluted air

According to the organization's findings, 99 percent of the world's population currently breathes polluted air.

The institution has warned that air pollution not only threatens human health but also has broader consequences, including exacerbating climate change, economic losses, and reduced agricultural production.

The United Nations has emphasized that addressing this phenomenon requires collective responsibility, as air pollution knows no boundaries.

According to the organization, cooperation among governments, institutions, companies, and civil society, through joint investment in resources and efforts, can accelerate the process of reducing air pollution.

The organization has called on all countries and individuals to take immediate and proactive action in the "race to find solutions" and contribute to ensuring healthy air for everyone.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan is one of the countries that, despite its minimal contribution to the production of pollutants and greenhouse gases, suffers the most from the consequences of climate change and air pollution.

The United Nations, on the occasion of "International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies," has announced that air pollution has become the greatest environmental threat to human health today.
