The longest government shutdown in US history ends after 43 days

The U.S. Senate had passed a bill on Monday to end the shutdown and provide funding for the government, and today this bill was sent to the House of Representatives for final approval. Ultimately, Donald Trump signed it at the White House.

This bill passed in the House of Representatives (the lower chamber of the U.S. Congress) with 222 votes in favor against 209 votes against. Six Democrats also joined the Republicans and voted in favor of the bill.

It should be noted that 43 days had passed since the start of the U.S. government shutdown. During this period, thousands of federal employees worked without pay, were sent on mandatory leave, or were dismissed. Many programs, organizations, and federal ministries had also been halted due to the lack of funding.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, signed a bill on Thursday, November 13, that ends the longest government shutdown in the history of this country.
