President of Ukraine: The Taliban have plunged Afghanistan into darkness

On Wednesday, 2 Mizan, Mr. Zelenskyy made a brief reference to the situation in Afghanistan during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.


This is the first time that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, has publicly addressed the current situation in Afghanistan and criticized the Taliban’s policies in a speech.


During the United Nations General Assembly session, some country leaders also referred to the situation in Afghanistan and criticized the Taliban.


Among them, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, called on the Taliban to form an inclusive government.


Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, also emphasized the need to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan and called for global assistance to those affected by earthquakes and drought in Afghanistan.


Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, stated in his speech that the international community should not allow Afghanistan to become isolated.
