Roza Otunbayeva's mission ends; Taliban appreciate her efforts

Recently, the UN Security Council also announced that Otunbayeva’s mission would conclude in September.


The ministry stated on Friday, 14 Sunbula, in a statement that Ms. Otunbayeva emphasized the continuation of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan during this meeting.


The statement further noted that 25 UN working groups have been dispatched to earthquake-affected areas, and the process of distributing aid will begin after assessing the conditions.


Additionally, the head of UNAMA announced during the meeting a $23 million project aimed at providing a sustainable solution to the issue of migration in northern Afghanistan.


The Taliban Minister of Refugees thanked Otunbayeva for her efforts and services during her tenure, adding that the United Nations has carried out significant work during this period and called for more positive actions.


Rosa Otunbayeva, the UN Special Representative for Afghanistan, is set to present her final report on Afghanistan to the Security Council at the upcoming UN meeting to be held in September.

The Taliban Ministry of Refugees announced in a statement that Abdul Kabir, the minister of this ministry, expressed appreciation for the efforts and contributions of Rosa Otunbayeva, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, during a meeting marking the end of her mission.
