CENTCOM announces the death of a senior al-Qaeda member in Syria

CENTCOM stated on Tuesday, 15 Mizan, that U.S. forces in the Middle East are on full alert to disrupt and neutralize terrorists' efforts to plan, organize, and carry out attacks.


The U.S. Central Command referred to this Al-Qaeda member as a senior planner of Al-Qaeda attacks in Syria and stated that the strike was conducted on 10 Mizan.


Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, said: "We will continue to defend our homeland, military forces, allies, and partners across the region and beyond."


The Ansar al-Islam group is a Sunni-Kurdish jihadist organization active in northern Iraq and Syria, reportedly linked to Al-Qaeda. This group is listed as a terrorist organization by the United Nations.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that as a result of an airstrike in Syria, Mohammad Abdulwahab al-Ahmad, a senior member of the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Ansar al-Islam group, was killed.
