Bill to cut off financial aid to Taliban approved by US House of Representatives

Mr. Burchett announced on Monday (July 2) in a message on the social network X that the "No Taxation of Terrorists Bill" had been successfully passed in the US House of Representatives.

He introduced the bill to the House in January of last year. The bill will now be sent to the Senate for final approval.

Also, Brian Mast, chairman of the US House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee, welcomed the approval of this bill to prevent the Taliban from abusing humanitarian aid, saying: "Not a single rupee of taxpayer money should reach the Taliban."

The bill, which has broad Republican support, would require the US State Department to prevent this aid from reaching the Taliban and report to Congress.
