Torkham crossing closed to all traffic

According to two reliable sources, the main reason for the closure of this crossing is the occurrence of floods and damage to the mobile phone network in the area.


One of these sources, who did not want to be named, said: "Due to the failure of computer systems, the movement process has been halted, and officials are working to repair the network. The crossing will reopen once the issue is resolved."


This event occurs while a brief clash took place last night between Pakistani border forces and the Taliban at this crossing.


According to sources, the clash was initiated by Taliban forces, and as a result, a Pakistani officer was injured.


The Taliban have not yet reacted to this matter.

Local sources say that the Torkham crossing has been closed to all types of traffic since Saturday morning (8 Sunbula).
