Ashraf Ghani: Deported migrants in Afghanistan will enjoy permanent rights

On Thursday (17 July), Mr. Ghani said in an audio recording that deported Afghan migrants, unlike in neighboring countries, will have permanent rights in their own country, and no power can deprive them of these rights.

He speaks of permanent rights at a time when the Taliban, over the past four years, have severely violated the rights of the country’s citizens, particularly the rights of women and girls.

Ghani also stated that the scenes of forced deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran have broken everyone’s hearts.

The former president added: “If we remain silent in such circumstances, this accelerating crisis will pave the way for a full-scale humanitarian disaster.”

This comes as, concurrently with the end of Israel’s attacks on Iran, the deportation and detention of Afghan migrants by the Islamic Republic have increased at an unprecedented rate.

Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Afghanistan’s former fugitive president, warned of an impending full-scale humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan following the unprecedented deportation of the country’s migrants from Iran.
