Two children and two teenagers committed suicide in Khost in the last three days

In the latest case, sources on Tuesday, 21 Asad, stated that a young man ended his life last night in the “Khader Pirano” area of Khost province.


According to sources, this young man had recently graduated from Sheikh Zayed University in Khost.


Sources clarify that the young man was struggling with unemployment and hopelessness after graduating from university.


Yesterday, sources also reported the suicide of a teenager named Bilal in Khost.


On Sunday of this week, in two separate incidents, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl committed suicide in this province. According to statistics, 14 individuals, mostly teenagers, have taken their own lives in Khost province over the past four months.


Last year, 72 cases of suicide were reported in this province, which were also confirmed by the Taliban’s security command in Khost.


Poverty, hopelessness, unemployment, and family violence have been reported as some of the factors contributing to suicides in this province.

Local sources in Khost say that four individuals, including two children and two teenagers, have committed suicide in this province over the past 72 hours.
