Taliban official: 30,000 to 35,000 Afghan refugees deported from Iran every day

Abdulsalam Hanafi, on Saturday, during a meeting with Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, said that the mass expulsion of migrants has created numerous challenges.


In this meeting, he requested the cooperation of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and other aid organizations in the field of permanent resettlement of migrants.


The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees traveled to Kabul following the mass expulsion of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan, and held discussions with Taliban officials on how to address the situation of the deported migrants.

Abdulsalam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Taliban’s prime minister, stated that daily, between 30,000 to 35,000 migrants are forcibly returned to Afghanistan through the Islam Qala border.
