70 Palestinians killed in attack on aid convoy in Gaza

The Gaza Media Office also reported that on Wednesday alone, 51 people who were heading to the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza to receive aid were killed by Israeli forces, and more than 648 others were injured.

According to reports, over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed near aid distribution sites operated by the JHF Foundation with support from the United States and Israel. This foundation began its operations in Gaza in late May.

The foundation’s activities have been heavily criticized by the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations due to its inability to provide sufficient aid and the dire security conditions around distribution sites.

Meanwhile, a global hunger monitoring organization announced on Tuesday that a famine scenario is unfolding and expressed concern about a sharp increase in hunger, particularly among children and the elderly. The report stated that in recent weeks, 154 people, including 89 children, have died due to malnutrition.

This comes as the United Nations has stated that Gaza requires at least 500 to 600 trucks of aid daily to meet basic human needs; however, in the past four days, only 269 trucks have entered the region, far below the required amount.

The Al Jazeera network has reported that following Israel's recent attacks on recipients of humanitarian aid, at least 71 Palestinians have been killed, and seven others have died due to famine and severe malnutrition.
