Eight members of a family killed in unexploded ordnance explosion in Farah

Fida Mohammad Saadat, the Taliban district governor in Bala Buluk, told Bakhtar News Agency: "This incident occurred in the village of Nawabad, at the home of an individual named Jan Mohammad, known as 'Malang Jan Qalandari.'"


Local sources report that Jan Mohammad, along with his wife and five children, were killed in the explosion, and another family member, who was severely injured, died while being transported to the hospital.


Local authorities have warned that similar incidents involving explosions of remnants from past wars have repeatedly caused heavy civilian casualties in various provinces of the country.

Local sources in Farah province report that eight members of a family, including five children, were killed as a result of an explosion of unexploded ordnance in the Bala Buluk district of the province.
