UNAMA: We engage with all parties in Afghanistan to support inclusive governance

UNAMA stated that the goal of this approach is to support human rights and to garner greater attention and support from the international community for the people of Afghanistan; however, it did not provide details about these engagements or the parties involved.

In the statement, UNAMA expressed concern about the worsening situation of women and girls in Afghanistan, noting that the Taliban’s restrictions on education, work, and social participation not only undermine the fundamental rights of citizens but also weaken the country’s future.

The mission also commemorated “United Nations Day” by reaffirming its commitment to peace, security, justice, and sustainable development, recalling that over the decades, through times of hardship and progress, the United Nations has consistently stood by the people of Afghanistan, assisting millions of Afghan citizens through various programs and institutions in areas such as education, health, drinking water, and livelihoods.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced in a statement on Friday, 2nd of Aqrab, marking the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations, that it will continue to engage with all relevant stakeholders in Afghanistan to promote inclusive governance.
